England vs Australia, 4th ODI, 2024
The 4th ODI between England and Australia in the 2024 series is set to take place at Lord's on September 27. Australia currently leads the five-match series 2-1, but England gained momentum with
a rain-affected victory in the third ODI, where stand-in captain Harry Brook scored his maiden century, helping England win by 46 runs via the DLS method. This victory ended Australia’s impressive 14-match unbeaten streak in ODIs, dating back to October 2023.
Both teams have plenty at stake heading into the 4th ODI. For England, it's an opportunity to level the series and force a decisive fifth match. Their captain, Harry Brook, has been in great form, but England’s bowling has shown inconsistency throughout the series. Changes are likely, with Reece Topley expected to return to strengthen the bowling attack.
Australia, on the other hand, will be looking to seal the series with a win. Their batting has been impressive, with Travis Head leading from the front, having already scored a 154* in the first ODI. Captain Mitchell Marsh could make adjustments to the squad, possibly bringing back opener Travis Head, who was rested for the third ODI.
This contest at Lord's promises to be a thrilling battle between two of the world’s top ODI teams, with England hoping to carry their momentum and Australia aiming to close out the series.
